You should immediately devote the rest of your life, i.e. one week, to Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This will give the greatest benefit and reward.

“What is the greatest reward?” Peace and happiness. Everyone wants to be happy and peaceful. Everyone’s working hard to become happy but no one attains real happiness. Why? Because people are searching for happiness at the wrong place.

You’ll find happiness and peace only when you take shelter of God because Krishna, or God is the reservoir of happiness. So if you have only one week, then you should take shelter of Krishna, the real God.

“So how does one take shelter of Krishna?”

Chant the Hare Krishna mantra continuously, read the Bhagavad Gita, and associate with Krishna’s devotees. These are the means of taking shelter of Krishna. The other way is to pray to him earnestly, “O Krishna, I am going to die. Please take me back to your abode after I leave my present body. I want to live with you in your planet called Goloka Vrindavana, which is full of happiness and devoid of miseries such as repeated birth, death, old age and disease.”

If you pray in a surrendering mood, Krishna will surely help you in your moment of crisis because He is sitting within your heart and is listening to all your prayers.

The great Emperor Parikshita Maharaja, when he learnt that he was going to die in a week’s time, immediately left his vast kingdom and went to the banks of the holy river Ganga to listen to the Srimad Bhagavatam from the lotus lips of the maha-bhagavata devotee Srila Sukadeva Goswami. He listened to the glories of the Supreme Lord, Shri Krishna continuously for seven days and nights and ultimately fearlessly embraced death at the end of seven days because he was sure that he was going back to Krishna’s planet to live an eternal life full of happiness and ever-increasing bliss.

So chant Hare Krishna and die peacefully.
